1. Meeting locations and dates

Regular Club meetings are held on a Tuesday evening at the Waverley RSL in Coleman Parade, Glen Waverley, starting at 8.00pm.

Make sure you check the website on www.seatac.org.au to check on changes and updates to these dates

Meetings cover the status of the boating, house matters, social affairs, general Club business and acceptance of nominations from those persons wishing to go fishing with the Club over the following fortnight.

 2. Fees and donations for 2009/2010

1.     Joining fee $50 Membership $80.

2.      Life Members, wishing to receive comprehensive literature are asked to contribute $10 to defray postage and distribution  cost.

3.      Boat-trip donation -This cost is includes fuel and oil.

                               -2 People $80.

                               -3 People $105

                               -4 People $120

4.      Long-term-period rate donations, for away fishing trips are to  be decided by the Executive Committee on advice from the boating Sub-committee.

5.     It is the prerogative of the Angling Sub-committee to offer reduced-trip donations for needed Captains.

6.      Holiday House-stay donations $15/night per person.

7.      Boat & house donations review September 2010 by the Committee.

3. Angling information

 a. How to Book

Members wishing to go fishing  - attend the angling Nomination Meeting to book their trip. Alternatively book by phoning Fishing Captain Terry Smith on Home 9840 7373 / Mobile: 0418 549091

If Terry is unavailable, contact another Committee Member. The congregation point for the Westernport. fishing trips is determined by the elected Skipper of the day. Captains Please check Section 5 for changed Yaringa boating requirements.

New Members are urged to place themselves on the Trainee Captains list - so that they can take out the Club boat. 

In any dispute relating to angling and bookings, the Angling Committee will be the sole judge.

b. Angling season rules

  1. Those wishing to fish on competition days will need to fill in a current fishing comp form prior to the event and handed to one of the fishing committee

    These forms will be available at the clubs house and at the Fishing venue on the day. Also can be printed from our web site by

    selecting SEATAC Angling Fishing Comp Entry Form  from Library Archive.

  1. Catches will need to be verified on the comp form by at least one other club member.

  2. Most prizes for the events will be awarded at our yet to be named presentation night in 2010  

c. Point System

Snapper = 2 points (max 10 per comp)

Whiting = 1 point (max 20 per comp)

Salmon = 1 point (max 20 per comp)

 Gummy = 10 points (max 2 per comp)

Trout = 2 points (max 10 per comp. within bag limit)

Bream = 2 points (max 10 per comp)

Shark (other) = 10 points (max 2 per comp)

 

d. Awards/Trophies

    Prizes will be awarded to winners as follows

  5. Biggest Snapper
  6. Biggest Shark (eatable species only)

 4. Nominating for Club-Boat Trips

 

 In nominating for Club trips, Members should familiarize themselves with the boating condition specified

 on section 5.

 Nominations at taken at Club Meetings and take preference over telephone nominations.

Booking for boat trips in order of preference is

Members, Members immediate families (i.e. partner and siblings) and Members visitors.

A Member can invite up to 2 visitors per trip.

A visitor can have a maximum of 3 boat trips per season & then be given the opportunity to apply to

        become a Member.

Persons between 12 and 17 can be charged at half price but entitled to half their share of the catch

bullet

For angling cancellations or nominations contact the Chairman of the Angling Sub-committee or the listed

        assistant.

Members must be at the nominated meeting point 15 minutes prior to departure time.

Times may be varied by The Chairman of Angling Committee or the Captain.

 Trip sheets must be in hands of Angling Committee within 1 week after trip.

 Private boat Members must nominate at the latest on the day of fishing and have catch verified

         by another Member if entering their catch for any prize.

Keeping undersize fish or exceeding bag limits will result in disqualification from fish-off day with

        deliberate major regulation breaches to be dealt with by the full Committee. 

5. Boating conditions

The Club boat will be located at Yaringa Marina for a trial period. (refer to website for updates or contact  Boating or House Committee.

As a general rule, trip Captain's are decided at the previous  Club Meeting and confirmed by the Angling Committee Chairman at that time. If you booked in but cannot attend the appropriate Nomination Night meeting then please contact the Chairman of the Angling Committee, or his deputy, for detailed information, including the Captain's identity and  specific requirements for the trip.

Club boat not allowed out when winds forecast at more than 16 Knots

Captains can determine the times for departure and may make other late-stage alterations to plans.

        It is therefore the responsibility of each trip Member to  contact the trip Captain the day before the

        trip.

A boat must not be taken out without clearance either at a Nomination Night meeting or subsequently,

       from an Angling Committee Member or (if this is not possible)  from an authorized Committee

       Member.

Only Members authorized to skipper the boat (refer Members list available from Secretary) can be

       Captains. All Captains (incl. Trainees) must hold a boating license.

When there are multiple consecutive booking requirements, a boat can only be reserved for 1 day at a

       time, when the boat is based at Warneet.

Longer term hiring of the boats for fishing away from the Warneet base, is subject to availability and

       normally is limited to a maximum of 3 consecutive days. Such hiring and usage is at the discretion of

       the Executive Committee acting on advice from the Boat and Angling Sub-committees.

Trainee Captains may take a boat out provided another  fully qualified Captained boat is in the immediate

        vicinity.

A minimum of 2 Members are required for the club boat.

Children under 12 are only permitted on boats on  nominated "Parent & Child" days. On these occasions, it

       is the responsibility of the parent to attend to their child's   safety and to provide them with

       appropriate lifejacket that must be worn at all times (2 only children's lifejackets are available

       through the Club - individuals must check lifejackets ensuring they are a suitable fit before

        departing).

Children aged 12 to 16 are allowed on the boats when accompanied by a parent or by a person given

       authority by   a parent and with the concurrence of all trip Members. It is reiterated that it is the

       responsibility of the responsible adult to look after their children's safety and to provide them  with

       appropriate lifejackets that must be worn at all times.

The Club boat takes a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 passengers. However,  it is strongly

       recommended that the planing hull is restricted to a maximum of 4, depending  upon the overall

       weights.

Nominated Members and visitors take preference over non-nominated persons.

Captains are to be familiar with operating procedures, to check oil, fuel, safety gear and to leave the boat

       Clean.

Fuel is maintained by Yaringa Marina / 2 stroke oil is kept in the boat.

If 2 Stroke oil supply is low contact Boat Captain. or if urgently required, purchase and show receipt to

the Treasurer for payment

All Captains taking out club boat are required to purchase a $50.00 security access card from

        Yaringa boat harbour. This is fully refundable when no longer required ( see Neil )

Captains are to ring Yaringa on 59774154 by 4 PM the day before and advise office that you require

        boat No M275 to be launched at your required time.

        Captains are also to ask Yaringa to fill boat with  petrol.

On arrival captain is to check that all safety equipment is in working order and that the 2 stroke oil tank

        on motor is at least half full.

On returning, lift motor and ask staff you require boat on hard stand for washing and flushing motor.

        Once finished put on canopy and have a safe trip home.

Captain to immediately contact Glen and Brian of any maintenance, safety or breakdown issues.

      

6. House arrangements

Bookings are arranged through the Chairman of the House Sub-committee, Ian Clyde, Phone 0418 530 112

Booking in order of preference is Members, Members immediate families and Members visitors up to a

       maximum of 4 for any one period.

Every Person Staying Overnight At The Club House Must Inform The House Captain AND Fill In

        The 'House Register Book' With The Names Of Those Who Have Stayed, Date & Length Of Stay.

A Gold coin donation is required for the use of house tank water in the washing members boats. No Motors

       are to be flushed out at the house, this excludes the club boat.

House Keys are available for financial members on a $10.00 refundable deposit.

If a member is reported to have stayed overnight in the club house without adhering to the club house

        rules, the executive committee will formally interview the member concerned, and if not satisfactory

        explanation has been obtained, Person will be warned, that if this breach occurs again, he/she will be

        required to hand back the Club Key.

Participation of 3 official club working bee's entitles member to a Free stay  

7. Radio procedures and marine contacts

The boat radios are normally on 27.96Mhz for contact between boats.

bullet

Channel 27. 88Mhz is for establishing other contacts and  emergencies with 27.86Mhz for weather reports

       and alternative emergencies.

 Club boat will answer calls to TAC or SEA 'Trail Craft'.

8. Trip leaving times (pre-check with Captain

Members must be at the nominated meeting point 15 minutes prior to departure time. These are normally 3 hours before daytime low tides as set out in the tide tables.
